Fishing Industry Representative for Cable Installation
PC Landing Corp. (PCL) will soon be installing their JUNO submarine fiberoptic cable and RTI Infrastructure will soon be installing their Bifrost submarine fiberoptic cable. Each cable installation is expected to take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to complete.
The Central California Joint Cable/Fisheries Liaison Committee is now requested to compile a list of bottom contact fishermen doing business in San Luis Obispo County who meet the requirements of the Cable Company and may be interested in performing Fishing Industry Representative duties for the cable installation operation.
The Fishing Industry Representative will be provided an internet link with the cable installation vessel, or similar remedy, in order to facilitate remote observation and transmission of the cable deployment positions and burial data for the cable being installed as quickly as may be feasible.
The General Fishing Industry Representative duties will include:
Up to two Fishing Industry Representatives experienced in the water depth range in which the cable ship will be working may be selected for the project.
The Fishing Industry Representatives reasonable fees and expenses will be paid by the Cable Company involved in the installation. If you have interest in performing the duties of the Fishing Industry Representative please complete and submit the form below NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 29, 2024.

- For plow operations:
- recording latitude and longitude and kilometer post for both a paper record and electronically; and,
- record plow burial depth and tow tension if excessive.
- For ROV operations:
- recording latitude and longitude and kilometer post for both a paper record and electronically; and,
- record dive number, direction of travel, and inspection or jetting pass number.
- Log all instructions given to the Guard Boat and log any radio or cell calls made to any fishing vessels related to the burial operation.
- Other assistance as required.
