Bifrost Undersea Cable Installation

fThe cable ship Ile de Brehat has begun cable installation operations for the Bifrost Cable System offshore Grover Beach/Morro Bay, California. The cable ship will:

• clear the seabed from debris towing a grapnel;
• bury the cable while on the continental shelf using a sea plow or remote operated vehicle; and,
• conduct a post-lay inspection and burial using a remote operated vehicle.

All mariners are requested to remain aware of the cable-laying operations and maintain a minimum 1 nautical mile clearance of the cable ship.
The cable alignment will cross NOAA Navigational Charts 18700 (south half) and 18703 (southwest corner). The figure below shows the alignment.
